Airy Miller: Dear phone, this is super lame but I have no where else private to write. ANYWAY, I met two guys today. We'll call them T and N. I know that's stupid but talking to myself via text isn't much better.

Airy Miller: I don't know what I'm doing but I'm staying with them...

[ Deciding to turn on voice to text while working was a really bad idea. ]

Tony, I do know you. You are only sort of a functioning adult. [It's sad but true.] And I don't believe you when you say that.

[ Ugh. He didn't actually want to talk about any of that. What was he doing. ]

Fine, half functional. [ He sighed. ] Can we just pretend the last two minutes didn't happen?

Not really. Tony... do you really think such depressing things? I like you. That has to count for something.

[ The sound of something hitting the desk could be heard. It was probably his head. ]

No. I was conducting an experiment about negative mindsets.

[ His voice was a bit muffled. Apparently the desk was his new pillow.

Also, another lie. ]

It does. That's why I asked you to take care of Hikaru. So do it already.

Ummm... okay.

[She isn't sure what else to say or do.]

I will take care of her. Don't worry.

[ Except not. It was hard to think of anything but depressing things considering who the recipient of that prosthetic he was slaving over was. ]

[ His tone indicated that he was going to disagree, but why bother? She was right that he wasn't okay. He didn't want to say how he felt or share all the reasons that he'd given people to stop caring, but it was evident that she was trying to help him. Maybe that was the difference between her and the others, though. They always shoved his mistakes back in his face but never tried to show him a way to stop making them.

He exhaled, the sounds from his end seeming to indicate that he'd at least sat up straighter. ]

I don't mean to be this way. The thing about this arm though... I'm making it because the person I shot the original prosthetic off of showed up here. I wanted him dead because of something he couldn't control. I'm trying to atone for that but how can I not think about what a royal fuck up I am in the process?

[ His chair made a quiet squeak as he leaned back and closed his eyes. His voice was a bit quieter, too. ]

Listen, I'm sorry. Why I think you're going to end up hating me has nothing to do with you and everything to do with me.

[Airy is very quiet when she listens and when she speaks again it's as if she'd been holding her breath. Her voice is softer and yet confident with the sort of kindness that doesn't really exist on a day to day basis in New York City.]

Tony, I will never hate you. Everyone makes mistakes. [Hell, she's the reason for her parents deaths. She'd been so stupid at the time and had run. If she'd told them, told someone then the might have been able to find a way to escape; together.] I think the fact that you're trying to fix it.... well it's amazing.

It's something to be proud of. Just like how I'm proud to know you.

[She'll never hold someones mistakes over their head. It's just not in her.]
