Well you talk to each other all the time. The way she talks about you implies that you're close in a way that's greater than friends but not like family.

Talking won't hurt and it'll strengthen your friendship. No matter what role in her life you play you guys are friends and that isn't changing. Sometimes having friends is hard and if we added more stress I'm sorry but it'll work out.
