New York || Day 1
Dec. 11th, 2015 09:23 pm[Running is the current plan but it isn't going well. She's constantly getting lost and she's reminded again and again that she's never been out of her small town alone. She misses her family and her friends but more than that she is really missing a warm bed. Her feet continue forward, the tall buildings towering on either side of her. It's impressive, as far as cities go, but its to close together.
To much can go wrong.
She must of made a wrong turn because Airy finds herself walking along a very shady part of town. Winter is setting in but she thinks of warmth and she manages to keep herself heated. She has a backpack around her shoulders and it looks like she's wearing a uniform: white button down, green pleated skirt, black jacket and a matching tie. It's most definitely giving some of the people here the wrong idea.]
Shit.
[Airy whispers softly under her breath, a puff of white leaving her warm lips. When she spots two men pointing towards her she runs. Her feet fly across the street and she's about 75% sure they weren't following her. Mist descends on the area and Airy one again curses under her breath. She's only getting more lost at this rate and running around New York after midnight isn't on her to do list.]

The next morning
Date: 2016-01-29 01:45 am (UTC)[Airy's voice is light and teasing as she looks between the pair. She can tell that they are good friends and even if they haven't seen each other for a while it doesn't show. She suddenly really misses Maine: Mark and Sara. Her stomach drops but she tries to hide the expression from her face.
Instead she focuses on her second hot dog. She then decides that onions and mustard are the best.]
The next morning
Date: 2016-01-29 02:00 am (UTC)Nah, you kids look like you've got other places to be. You know where to find me.
[And he gives Nathan a wink before waving them away.]
Go on, get out of here.
[Nathan chuckles but can take the hint.]
Alright, alright, Gus. I'll see you around.
[Gus nods.]
You'd better, if ya know what's good for ya.
[Nathan gives Gus a mock salute and turns to walk away, still shaking his head, but looking over to Airy to make sure she's coming.]
The next morning
Date: 2016-01-29 02:05 am (UTC)If you haven't seen him in so long why are we leaving so soon?
[Besides the fact that Airy would probably keep eating hot dogs while they stood their. The hot dog made her feel better and slowly more like herself.
For the moment she even felt normal.]
The next morning
Date: 2016-01-29 02:11 am (UTC)Damn right, I am. Go on. Get out of here. I've got other customers to take care of, anyway.
[Gus waved, as though that final gesture was enough to explain everything else he'd said.]
...okay. [And with that, Nathan shoved his hands in his pockets, having finished his hotdog, and started off down the sidewalk.]
Sorry. Gus has always been a little weird.
The next morning
Date: 2016-01-29 02:18 am (UTC)That's fine. Where are we heading now?
[She doesn't remember the plans except hot dogs and now, even after her hot dog is gone, she can't stop thinking about it. She misses her hot dog.]
The next morning
Date: 2016-01-29 02:36 am (UTC)The next morning
Date: 2016-01-29 02:43 am (UTC)Airy looks over at him before tossing out the wrapper to her hot dog in a trash can and wiping her fingers on a napkin.]
That depends how much you want your shirt back.
[Hers is sorta ruined.]
Otherwise; Zoo.
The next morning
Date: 2016-02-06 01:58 pm (UTC)I think it looks good on you. Keep it.
[And he smiles.]
So let's get back to the car so we can get to the zoo.
The next morning
Date: 2016-02-06 03:28 pm (UTC)When he mentions the Zoo she decides to focus on that. Her bright emerald green eyes look up at him and she takes a small step closer as the crowds once again thicken. At least she knows the way back to the car this time.]
What sort of animals are there? Are there pandas? [Because she's never seen panda's.] Or whales? [Because that would be cool too.]
The next morning
Date: 2016-02-08 03:38 am (UTC)[The walk back to his car is a shorter one, foot traffic heading further into the shopping district rather than out. When they arrived, he opened the car door for her.]
We get to cross the bridge again.
The next morning
Date: 2016-02-08 03:54 am (UTC)[She's glad the walk back to the car is quick. However, Airy isn't used to people holding the door open for her so she smiles and quickly ducks inside the car before her cheeks flush bright red.]
Oh neat.
[Not that bridges are that interesting but it means a long drive.]
The next morning
Date: 2016-02-08 09:24 pm (UTC)Tell you what. The stereo is yours.
The next morning
Date: 2016-02-08 09:44 pm (UTC)She doesn't know any of the stations so she excitedly begins to flip through them pausing for a few seconds and then continuing through her search. After a moment a song comes on and Airy almost jumps in her seat in excitement. She glances over at Nathan with a sheepish grin.]
I like this song.
[As the song begins Airy mouths the words and begins to sway to the music in her seat. She's a little too shy to sing with someone else in the car but she can't deny how much she likes this song.]
The next morning
Date: 2016-02-08 11:50 pm (UTC)Rhianna, huh?
The next morning
Date: 2016-02-09 01:33 am (UTC)Is that okay?
[He likes musicals but that doesn't mean he likes pop music.]
The next morning
Date: 2016-02-09 02:53 am (UTC)I don't mind Rhianna. I actually like a lot of music. It's sort of a thing.
The next morning
Date: 2016-02-09 03:05 am (UTC)I like a lot of music too.
[She's never had the talent to play though.]
Honestly I like all music but things I can sing along to are the best. [Mostly because she used to sing with her mom on long car rides.]
The next morning
Date: 2016-02-09 03:09 am (UTC)I'm not really a huge fan of rap, though.
The next morning
Date: 2016-02-09 03:14 am (UTC)[She begins to flick through radio stations again.]
M&M had some pretty good earlier stuff and I liked listening to French rap... except I have no idea what they are saying. Apparently it's very political.
[Airy pauses as if realizing that she's let her guard down around Nathan. She smiles a little awkwardly and lets the radio station remain on a pop rock song.]
The next morning
Date: 2016-02-09 03:28 am (UTC)[He nods.] Some of Eminem's stuff isn't too bad. I like ska, big-band stuff. Uh...Brian Setzer?
The next morning
Date: 2016-02-09 03:30 am (UTC)Sounds cool.
[She really likes music though she's trying not to dork out about anything again. It's awkward.]
So what's your favorite song? Or does it change because mine always changes.
The next morning
Date: 2016-02-09 03:50 am (UTC)[And he clears his throat. That...sounded better in his head.]
The next morning
Date: 2016-02-09 03:52 am (UTC)Like what?
[Airy bites her lower lip trying not to laugh.]
The next morning
Date: 2016-02-09 02:53 pm (UTC)The next morning
Date: 2016-02-09 02:55 pm (UTC)[She pauses listening to the next song for a few measures before continuing.]
I've never been to a club but I assume that it's a weird pop techno hybrid. What do you listen to while working or cleaning?
