Yeah, I usually put them in a bowl and swish them under running water for a bit. It just stops the starch from doing weird things in the oven. [She is not a scientist.]

Do you like to cook?

[She thinks she'd asked this before but Airy really doesn't remember. Everything at Stacy's had been a blur... except for Gerard. She remembers him.

Airy takes a few more bits and falls into a steady rhythm of eating and drinking between bits and pieces of the conversation.]

[He shakes his head.] I never had a chance to really try it. We had cooks when I was growing up, and while I was traveling it was either easy-to-prepare fare, or ordering from various other places when we had thee time. [So he can boil water, but that's about it.]

Do you want to learn to cook?

[She takes a sip of her wine before placing the glass back on the table. Her pace is slowing and Airy's internally debating how much more she can eat while still leaving room for Fran's desert.]

I can teach you. If you want. Usually if you follow the recipe it's not to hard.

[A pause, as he considers. He's mostly been eating out, since he can actually afford it. But...he remembers Osomatsu's jealousy when he mentioned this dinner. Maybe...he could make it up to him that way?] I think that would be useful. What recipes do you have in mind?

I don't know.

[Airy lifts her shoulders in a shrug.]

I'd say something that you really like but I remember that you hadn't been super specific when I first asked so it's really whatever you want. [After all, it'd be for him.]

Hm. [He pokes at his food, nibbling a bit more.] I suppose since you've already begun explaining, I might as well learn how to make these potatoes.

[imaginationswoes]

I can do that! It isn't that hard though we should probably do it another time since I'm very full and we'll have to eat what we make.

[Which was cool. Airy likes having people over.]

[He nods, smiling.] Of course. Today's meal has been quite sufficient for both of us. [Gerard croons happily in agreement.]

I'm glad. I'm all done. Want me to get new plates for desert?

I figured I could make us some coffee too. Coffee and pound cake always do well together.

[silvertongueheir]

[He nods, reaching out to help pick up Gerard's plate along with his own.] That sounds delightful. Do you have cream and sugar as well?

[imaginationswoes]

I do. I'll get it all ready.

[Airy takes her plate and disappears into the kitchen to start the coffee. She returns with cream and sugar, placing them both on the table before then alternating between the table and the kitchen to clean up and fetch new plates. She accepts Fran's help but after a certain point she waves him away.]

You're a guest. Let me. Does Gerard like coffee too?

[silvertongueheir]

[He'll be gracious about it, returning to his seat after being waved away.] Ah, not really. He prefers water, or sweet fruit-flavored drinks. Though just water is fine for now. [it would probably be rude to make her get out juice as well as coffee, when she's already bringing out the sugar and cream for them.]

I only have orange juice which isn't really sweet. [It's super acidic.

Airy sets everything out and brings out the coffee when it beeps. She assumes that Fran can pour for himself but she does pour a cup for Gerard, tossing in an ice cube so he doesn't burn his beak while drinking.]

Here you go. And the cake is ready to cut!

[Franciscus does pour his own cup, adding a small bit of sugar and slightly more cream, while Gerard just chirps in gratitude again, nudging at the ice cube as he drinks.]

Excellent. Do you need any help with that? [Probably not, assuming it's sized properly for a smaller gathering like this, but it's still only polite to offer.]

[imaginationswoes]

No. I'll be good.

[She passes out the cake and takes a seat to eat. Each bite is small and Airy doesn't finish before placing down her fork and sipping at her coffee.] Thanks for coming over by the way. It's nice to have people here.

It's a little lonely sometimes.

[Franciscus eats daintily as well, Gerard being pretty much the only one here to take large bites of his cake. He does try to be neat about it, but the shape of his jaw just makes large bites easier.]

Ah. That's understandable. I've always had my Pokemon with me, so it's not as much a problem for me. [Even if he is surrounded by Betties.]

[imaginationswoes]

Yeah. I'm a little envious.

[Airy continues to sip her drink, looking between the pair of them with a warm smile. How amazing must it be to have pokemon?]

I wouldn't blame you. [Who wouldn't want Pokemon in their lives?] It's been strange, getting used to a place where most of the population doesn't have Pokemon accompanying them.

[imaginationswoes]

Really? I guess it's hard for me to imagine.

Since I've never lived in a pokemon world.

[silvertongueheir]

[He nods.] Though it is nice to be able to stroll around without having to worry that someone will challenge me to a battle. Especially from trainers who assume they'll be able to exploit Flying-type weaknesses against my team. They're trained specifically to handle it, but it still gets annoying at times.

[imaginationswoes]

[Airy laughs, her voice bright and warm.]

That does sound annoying. Sorry. I shouldn't laugh. If I had a pokemon I'd probably never really fight it. I just want to take care of them, maybe built a habitat for them.

[silvertongueheir]

That sounds like what Rangers do, then. They're responsible for guarding wild Pokemon herds against poachers and other disasters that might affect their habitat. Usually every region has their own division.

[imaginationswoes]

That's what I want to do.

[Airy smiles as she finishes the last of her coffee and glances towards the clock.]

It's getting late. Do you want me to walk you and Garerd home?

[silvertongueheir]

Ah, that won't be necessary. [It does feel like that would make this too close to a date.] Though I can text you when we've made it back, so you won't have to worry unduly.

[imaginationswoes]

[Airy doesn't date and doesn't actually know how those are supposed to go. Sides, can it really be a date if pokemon are there too? It's more like a dinner party with three people.]

That sounds good.

I do worry.

[A beat.]
