New York || Day 1
Dec. 11th, 2015 09:23 pm[Running is the current plan but it isn't going well. She's constantly getting lost and she's reminded again and again that she's never been out of her small town alone. She misses her family and her friends but more than that she is really missing a warm bed. Her feet continue forward, the tall buildings towering on either side of her. It's impressive, as far as cities go, but its to close together.
To much can go wrong.
She must of made a wrong turn because Airy finds herself walking along a very shady part of town. Winter is setting in but she thinks of warmth and she manages to keep herself heated. She has a backpack around her shoulders and it looks like she's wearing a uniform: white button down, green pleated skirt, black jacket and a matching tie. It's most definitely giving some of the people here the wrong idea.]
Shit.
[Airy whispers softly under her breath, a puff of white leaving her warm lips. When she spots two men pointing towards her she runs. Her feet fly across the street and she's about 75% sure they weren't following her. Mist descends on the area and Airy one again curses under her breath. She's only getting more lost at this rate and running around New York after midnight isn't on her to do list.]

The next morning
Date: 2015-12-23 08:31 am (UTC)[He lets her hand go, at least, because holding it had gotten a little weird. Her fingers were cute, though, small and thin.]
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-23 12:58 pm (UTC)It's more than me. I'm pretty average at everything.
[It isn't as if she's trying to put herself down, only Airy has never tried really hard at anything. She hasn't taken a skill and attempted to perfect it or even focused heavily on one thing. She does a little bit of everything and while she isn't particular horrible at anything she doesn't excel either.]
I know that you at least have 5 things you are good at.
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-24 01:51 am (UTC)[He hadn't been a gifted actor or anything. He'd just really wanted it. He'd poured all of himself into it for a long time. That was the only reason he was any good at it.]
Now I'm curious.
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-24 02:06 am (UTC)You'll think it's stupid.
[She looks up at Nathan and then sighs feeling defeated without him saying a word.]
Okay, I'll tell you one... drawing.
[Airy doesn't always stick to the things she tires.]
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-24 02:39 am (UTC)What do you like to draw?
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-24 03:28 am (UTC)I haven't drawn in a long time. So nothing. There are a lot of people who draw better then me.
So after that I focused on trying to be normal. I got really good at blending in.
[Which is why she wouldn't be surprised if everyone at home forgot she existed.]
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-24 03:38 am (UTC)[He smirks.]
Hey, blending in's a pretty good talent. Unless I'm acting, I'm terrible at it.
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-24 03:53 am (UTC)Hey! I'm... eighteen.
[she glances towards the ground and then back up at Nathan.]
How old are you?
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-24 04:41 am (UTC)Twenty-five.
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-24 05:01 am (UTC)Oh... cool.
[Airy is at a loss of what to say next. They can keep talking about themselves but she'll probably run out of things to say. She isn't usually this bad at conversations. She remembers being fine last night and she had been talking to a vampire then.
It's really weird.
In this mists of the silence Airys thoughts begin to wander without permission. At first it's a few petals but then flowers are raining down from the ceiling above them like rain falling out of clouds.]
Not again.
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-24 05:21 am (UTC)So, birds and...flowers? That's...really cute.
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-24 05:27 am (UTC)He said it was cute...]
It isn't always like this...
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-24 06:56 am (UTC)What other things have happened before?
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-24 01:14 pm (UTC)A lot... [Which isn't very specific.] If it can be imagined I've probably done it.
[All by accident of course.]
If I tell you I might think about it and then it will happen...
[So unless he wants a rainstorm in the house or dangerous animals prowling around. Not counting the flowers which were now covering the floor.]
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-24 11:05 pm (UTC)Really? How do you make them do away? I saw you do that.
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-25 12:51 am (UTC)It takes focus. It's really hard.
[She looks over at Nathan as she tried to explain.]
Sometimes I just try to imagine something else. It's only really bad if I imagine something scary.
[Like spiders.]
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-25 01:36 am (UTC)[He nods, taking a seat on the opposite end of the sofa.] Would it be forward if I asked if you wanted to try something?
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-25 01:46 am (UTC)Forward: yes...
[She pauses chewing on her lip.]
...but what is this something?
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-25 03:44 am (UTC)You know what kind of focus you need to make it go away, then, right? Have you tried...focusing on making them go away before they show up?
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-25 04:04 am (UTC)Well I focus on something else. So how would I know if it works if that something else doesn't happen.
[She'll usually chant something if it's really bad which hasn't happened in at least two days.
With her last words hanging in the air between them Airy takes a deep breath. She closes her eyes to focus and as she does the flowers around them slowly vanish. It takes a lot of work to focus on nothing and in her effort her mind slips.
Between them is a long rattlesnake with it's belt black eyes fixed on Airy. Its tail echoes a haunting sound as her eyes snapped open and lock on it.
Shit.]
That didn't work...
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-25 06:05 am (UTC)He screams, like a little girl, and is off the sofa faster than anyone would give him credit for accomplishing.]
Make it go away!
[I have no icon for this lol]
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-25 02:05 pm (UTC)The snake has other plans.
It lunges at her with it's teeth bared. She screams throwing up her arms to shield her face. Before it vanishes it's teeth sink into her arm sending a searing heat down to her finger tips and up her shoulder. There is a faint blur of red dripping down her arm as she stands and runs for her bag.]
I'm so sorry.
[She feels horrible that she let that happen and it could have been Nathan who got hurt. Her finger reach for the door handle and she winces when she realizes her fingers on her right arm don't want to work.]
I should leave. I'm so sorry.
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-25 06:40 pm (UTC)Airy, stop. [And he frowned in concern, watching her fumble with the door.]
...what's wrong?
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-25 07:33 pm (UTC)It could have hurt you. I shouldn't be around anyone.
[It'll become very obvious to Nathan that there is something wrong with her right arm. It's bleeding and staining her once white button down shirt.]
The next morning
Date: 2015-12-25 08:27 pm (UTC)[He shook his head.]
Don't go anywhere. I'm pretty sure I have a first aid kit around here somewhere.
