imaginationswoes | New York || Day 1

[Running is the current plan but it isn't going well. She's constantly getting lost and she's reminded again and again that she's never been out of her small town alone. She misses her family and her friends but more than that she is really missing a warm bed. Her feet continue forward, the tall buildings towering on either side of her. It's impressive, as far as cities go, but its to close together.

To much can go wrong.

She must of made a wrong turn because Airy finds herself walking along a very shady part of town. Winter is setting in but she thinks of warmth and she manages to keep herself heated. She has a backpack around her shoulders and it looks like she's wearing a uniform: white button down, green pleated skirt, black jacket and a matching tie. It's most definitely giving some of the people here the wrong idea.]

Shit.

[Airy whispers softly under her breath, a puff of white leaving her warm lips. When she spots two men pointing towards her she runs. Her feet fly across the street and she's about 75% sure they weren't following her. Mist descends on the area and Airy one again curses under her breath. She's only getting more lost at this rate and running around New York after midnight isn't on her to do list.]

[Airy's smile is wide as he performs and at the end she's clapping wildly.]

[He laughs, standing and shaking his head.]

I don't know about "amazing", but thanks.

[And then he says the rest having turned into the character that is Christopher Walken.]

You now, amazing would be something with a little more...drama, and maybe more cowbell.

[Airy is about to convince him to accept her compliment when his accent changed. She burst into fits of laughter and accidentally falls out of the high chair she had been sitting in.

She crashes hard to the ground in a small tangle of limbs, her musical laughter still carrying over the room.]

[Laughing, because that's the appropriate thing to do in this situation, Nathan moves to her side to check on her.]

Hey, are you okay?

[Airy has to push a small mess of brown hair out of her eyes as she dislodges her leg with the metal legs of her chair.]

Yeah. [She's smiling brightly.]

I can't remember the last time I laughed that hard.

[She stays on the floor for a moment before attempting to stand.]

[He reaches down to help her up, glad to see she's alright.]

Well, I'm glad I could help. I guess I'm good at that, too.

[Airy's thin fingers rest in Nathan's as she takes his hand and lifts her from the ground. She's still smiling though she's managed to control her laughter. Once standing she carefully tucks her hair behind her ear and smooths out her black shorts.

Her a moment she just looks up at Nathan but as seconds ticked by she felt a rising awkwardness.]

Ah, you're good at a lot of things.

[She's already notice that he's good at putting himself down.

The more she thought the more Airy realized that she had to figure out what she was going to do. She feels a little bad for leaving now, more so after Nathan went through so much trouble to make her feel at ease. At the very least she wants to say thank you to Antonio and maybe ask him about a place to go since he's far more well traveled than she is. There is however at least 8 hours of day light that she has to fill with something.]

[He chuckles.] I'm good at a lot of things, huh? But you've known me for less than an hour. How do you know it's a lot?

[He lets her hand go, at least, because holding it had gotten a little weird. Her fingers were cute, though, small and thin.]

[Airy continues to smile as he drops her hand and shakes her head.]

It's more than me. I'm pretty average at everything.

[It isn't as if she's trying to put herself down, only Airy has never tried really hard at anything. She hasn't taken a skill and attempted to perfect it or even focused heavily on one thing. She does a little bit of everything and while she isn't particular horrible at anything she doesn't excel either.]

I know that you at least have 5 things you are good at.

Oh yeah? What have you tried to do?

[He hadn't been a gifted actor or anything. He'd just really wanted it. He'd poured all of himself into it for a long time. That was the only reason he was any good at it.]

Now I'm curious.

[Airy fidgets uncomfortably under Nathans gaze. She isn't good at lying and she isn't good at talking about herself.]

You'll think it's stupid.

[She looks up at Nathan and then sighs feeling defeated without him saying a word.]

Okay, I'll tell you one... drawing.

[Airy doesn't always stick to the things she tires.]

Drawing, huh? That's cool. I've known a lot of artists.

What do you like to draw?

[Now for the awakard part.]

I haven't drawn in a long time. So nothing. There are a lot of people who draw better then me.

So after that I focused on trying to be normal. I got really good at blending in.

[Which is why she wouldn't be surprised if everyone at home forgot she existed.]

[He smirks.]

Hey, blending in's a pretty good talent. Unless I'm acting, I'm terrible at it.

[Age doesn't mean talent.]

Hey! I'm... eighteen.

[she glances towards the ground and then back up at Nathan.]

How old are you?

[And she's just barely legal. Okay, man. Get the thoughts out of your head.]

Twenty-five.

[Well, now that they got that out of the way.]

Oh... cool.

[Airy is at a loss of what to say next. They can keep talking about themselves but she'll probably run out of things to say. She isn't usually this bad at conversations. She remembers being fine last night and she had been talking to a vampire then.

It's really weird.

In this mists of the silence Airys thoughts begin to wander without permission. At first it's a few petals but then flowers are raining down from the ceiling above them like rain falling out of clouds.]

Not again.

[She probably doesn't get the response she expected as he looks around and starts laughing.]

So, birds and...flowers? That's...really cute.

[That isn't what she's expecting and her cheeks dust a light shade of pink.

He said it was cute...]

[Airy chews on her lower lip for a moment before glancing around for a place to sit. Not that standing facing each other in the middle of the apartment wasn't fun.]

A lot... [Which isn't very specific.] If it can be imagined I've probably done it.

[All by accident of course.]

If I tell you I might think about it and then it will happen...

[So unless he wants a rainstorm in the house or dangerous animals prowling around. Not counting the flowers which were now covering the floor.]

[Nathan notices her glancing around looking for a place to sit and moves toward the sofa/loveseat area of the lower level of the loft apartment.]

Really? How do you make them do away? I saw you do that.

[Couches! Airy smiles and moves over to plop down on the couch. It's comfortable and she immediately settles into the corner with a smile. Couches are awesome.]

It takes focus. It's really hard.

[She looks over at Nathan as she tried to explain.]

Sometimes I just try to imagine something else. It's only really bad if I imagine something scary.

[Like spiders.]

[He nods, taking a seat on the opposite end of the sofa.] Would it be forward if I asked if you wanted to try something?

[Airy hums softly before turning her shoulders to face Nathan.]

Forward: yes...

[She pauses chewing on her lip.]
